Genius Elden Ring Trick Lets Players Farm 5 Million Runes in 1 Hour

A key element to being successful in  Elden Ring  is earning as many runes as possible and then spending those runes to level up one's skills. Doing so will make conquering  Elden Ring 's many challenging bosses significantly easier, though getting runes isn't always the easiest thing in the world. Luckily, there are ways that  Elden Ring  players can farm for runes and level up fast, though one of the best methods does take some footwork. YouTuber RageGamingVideos has uploaded a helpful tutorial explaining how  Elden Ring  players can farm nearly 5 million runes in just one hour. Those that have the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace unlocked in Mohgwyn Palace can head there immediately, but others will likely have to do some prep work first. As explained in the video, the first thing players will want to do is speak with White-Faced Varre after defeating Godrick the Grafted. When that conversation is done,  Elden Ring  pla...

Final Fantasy kart racer Chocobo GP costs $50, monetizes like a mobile game

If you’re interested in  Chocobo  GP , a full-price, $50 kart racer that launched Thursday, realize first that the game is littered with microtransactions and upsells into them. Irate Final Fantasy fans who paid the freight say they feel duped, and those who play even the free, “lite” version available on Nintendo Switch say the whole thing feels like something you play on your phone. The gameplay is fine. Pick a chocobo or a Final Fantasy character, zip around a course, and boost your speed or take down your rivals with power-ups and magic spells. As for the rest of the game, “everything is [built] around purchasable season passes despite it being a paid game,” wrote one player on the Final Fantasy subreddit. “[I]t’s basically the same currency systems we see in gacha games, only it’s all for minor cart customization shit.” While racers and levels are unlockable, karts, outfits, and other items have to be bought at different shops, using more than o...

Nintendo 64 Platformer 'Glover' Returns, Just Not On Switch

Who remembers Interactive Studios' Glover? If you had an N64, you likely snagged a handful of 3D platformers from Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel, to Goemon's Great Adventure and Chameleon Twist. There was a glut of them on the system, but not many have been ported to other systems. Glover, however, is bucking the trend. On 20th April, you'll be able to play Glover, courtesy of Piko Interactive, on something that  isn't  an N64 cart, PlayStation disc, or an old PC CD-ROM (remember those?). Sadly, it's not coming to the console you'd expect it to, though — at least not yet. While the game is currently only announced for Steam, it seems daft that a port of an N64 game won't come to the Switch, given its origins. If you have a Steam Deck though, it's hopefully compatible with that, so you can still play it in the palm of your hands a few weeks from now.

Gran Turismo 7 can turn the DualSense into a steering wheel - and it's brilliant

Gran Turismo 7 is out now, and it’s simply brilliant. In my review, I say the racing sim is the best PS5 exclusive to date. It looks beautiful, the cars feel incredible to drive, and it’s brimming with content, including hundreds of cars and loads of tracks to race them on. But GT7’s ace in the hole, as it was with PS5 exclusives Returnal and Demon’s Souls, is the haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality offered by the DualSense Wireless Controller. GT7’s arguably the best use of the controller’s vibrations, too, with you able to feel every bump in the road, every gear change, even the sweeps of the windscreen wipers. But Gran Turismo 7 showcases the capabilities of the DualSense controller even further. Tucked away in the controller options menu is the choice to use motion controls in place of the analog stick, emulating the feeling of turning a steering wheel. It might sound like a gimmick, and I thought it would be, too, b...

BITSY IS THE SMALL VIDEO GAME ENGINE WITH A BIG COMMUNITY

the video game  Under A Star Called Sun , players wake up alone on a spaceship. There are only a handful of things to do: make coffee, water the plants, gaze out upon the cosmos. Walking along the ship’s winding corridors, you come across a room with a machine that lets you re-create memories. Suddenly, you’re transported to a pixelated sidewalk, then to brunch, and next to a quiet park. It’s a snapshot of two friends hanging out together on an ordinary August day — a memory, but one that’s likely to fade, to corrupt, as the protagonist says, “like a JPEG saved over and over.” Under A Star Called Sun  was made by Cecile Richard, a Melbourne-based graphic designer and zine maker. Richard explains over Zoom that it’s a response to grief. A friend passed away in 2019; they loved sci-fi, so a year later Richard made a game set on a spaceship. She did so using a piece of free open-source software called Bitsy which, since its release five years ago, has become one ...

The curse of Horizon has struck again with Forbidden West

What is it with the Horizon series and coming out right before genre-shaking barnstormers?  Horizon: Forbidden West  is excellent with a few trickly foibles, just as  Horizon: Zero Dawn  was. But now my life is all  Elden Ring  for the foreseeable future, and with some other pretty hot games on the medium-term horizon… I just can’t see myself finding any more time to play it. This all happened before, remember? Horizon: Zero Dawn released on February 28, 2017. It was a neat open-world game with beautiful graphics, a personable protagonist, and a really cool vibe, and sense of style. But then, four days later, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released. The board was wiped clean by Nintendo’s foray into open world action-adventure design. What is it with the Horizon series and coming out right before genre-shaking barnstormers?  Horizon: Forbidden West  is excellent with a few trickly foibles, just as  Horizon: Zero Dawn ...
