Last Chance to Play Diablo 4 Before Release Is Right Now on PS5, PS4

If you want to play   Diablo 4   one last time before its release on the 6th June, this is your last chance. The so-called Server Slam — which is basically an open beta — is now live on PS5 and PS4. All you need to do is download the client from the PlayStation Store. The Server Slam includes the whole first act of Diablo 4, which equates to a sizeable amount of playable content. What's more, all five character classes — Barbarian, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Rogue, and Druid — are available to try. If you didn't take part in the previous betas, then we think it's well worth jumping in to see whether the game's for you. As the name suggests, the Server Slam should allow Blizzard to get a handle on the technical side of things ahead of the action RPG's full launch in just a few weeks. With that in mind, we wouldn't be surprised if there are some technical hiccups over the testing period — just so you know! The Server Slam lasts the full weekend, ending on Sunday the...

Dead Island 2 Looks Incredible With ReShade Ray Tracing In New 4K Resolution Showcase

Unlike most high-profile games released in recent times, Dead Island 2, the second entry in the series developed by Dambuster Studios, doesn't support ray tracing in any form, which is a shame, as the game's excellent rendition of Los Angeles would look stunning with it, as shown by a new video shared online. The video, which was put together by Digital Dreams, showcases how great the game looks with the ReShade Ray Traced Global Illumination Beyond All Limits preset. As the preset's implementation isn't perfect, one can only wonder how good the game would look with proper ray tracing implementation. Outside of the solid optimization on all formats, including last-generation consoles, many are the things that Dead Island 2 does right, as I highlighted in my review, such as the wacky setting and characters and the solid combat system that allows players to take zombies with all sorts of weapons while taking advantage of the environment. Unfortunately, the second entry ...

Snapdragon’s Game Super Resolution Can Change Mobile Gaming

Part of Snapdragon’s Elite Gaming suite of technologies, Qualcomm announced   Game Super Resolution   (Snapdragon GSR) today, poised to bring better performance and improved battery life to mobile games like Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, Jade Dynasty: New Fantasy, Farming Simulator 23 Mobile, and more. What is Snapdragon Game Super Resolution (GSR)? According to Qualcomm’s press release, which can sometimes feel like reading a different language, GSR is a “single pass spatial aware super resolution technique” designed to provide super scaling quality with the best performance and power savings. As explained, there are many techniques for upscaling, with having some sort of negative trade-off for the improved resolution. With GSR, the goal is fast performance, good output quality, all in a single pass. For users like me and you, we should be able to notice four things when this becomes available on mobile titles: increased resolution while the visual quality of graphics r...

‘Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores’ Shows Metacritic Must Curb Review Bombing

Rather than write yet another article just about a game being review bombed on Metacritic, I wanted to write about how something really should be done to better curb this problem, which after all this time, still manages to be rather ridiculous. The game in question this time is Horizon Forbidden West, namely the new Burning Shores DLC which has an 81 score from two dozen critics. The User Score, meanwhile is a 2.7/10. While sometimes, a user score is a good indicator of a game being technically broken and upset players registered their anger that way, too often it is turned into a place to demonstrate hatred because of some specific “political” aspect of a game. And that’s what we’re seeing here. The issue in question here is (spoilers for Burning Shores follow) that Aloy finally gets a romance, and can share a kiss with another woman, Seyka. Even though it was already established Aloy’s genetic ancestor Elisabet was a lesbian, this reveal still managed to surprise some “fa...

"GTA 6 will be announced before May 17th": Fans believe Rockstar can officially reveal game prior to Take-Two investor call

Players have been waiting to learn more about GTA 6 (officially untitled), and now, that could almost be over. The next investor call of Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, is scheduled for May 17, 2023, and Twitter user mnm345 believes the developers can officially announce the game before it takes place. GTA 6 is a trending topic, and players and fans remain hopeful for the game to be officially announced soon. As seen in the above tweet, mnm345 believes there is a chance that it will finally happen this year. While they didn’t give any reason behind the claim, one could assume a GTA 6 announcement will do well for Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive during their upcoming earnings investor call on May 17, 2023. While Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any upcoming announcements, popular insider Tez2 also believes 2023 is the year when players will finally catch the first glimpse of the upcoming title. In a GTAForums post on March 10, 2023, they suggested a...

Pokémon Go developer Niantic is making a real-world Monster Hunter game

Niantic is working with a different kind of monster for its next release. The studio,   best-known for  Pokémon Go , announced a partnership with Capcom to make a title based on the   Monster Hunter   franchise. The new game is called   Monster Hunter Now , and it aims to take the core of that series — you know,   hunting monsters   — and transform it into the kind of real-world, augmented reality experience that Niantic is known for. Gameplay specifics were light (Niantic says more details will be available when the closed beta launches in the near future) but it appears that  Monster Hunter Now  will follow a somewhat familiar formula. The premise is that the  Monster Hunter  universe has somehow seeped into our world, and players will be able to encounter monsters, along with various resources, on a real-world map. The twist, it seems, is that the game will utilize the same gameplay cycle that  Monster Hunter  is...
